Outdoor Living: Creating Your Backyard Retreat

Outdoor Living: Creating Your Backyard Retreat

Summer is at last on its way to Northeast Ohio! We don’t have the opportunity to utilize our outdoor patio space for long – so we love making the most of outdoor lounging & dining while the warmer temps are here!

We’ve gathered up some ideas below to help you create your perfect backyard retreat.  Click on the photos below to go shopping!

We find people often start with a table and chairs, but leave it at that.  Our first suggestion would be to add a large indoor/outdoor rug. Right away your patio space will feel more grounded, defined & inviting! For our roundup we chose a neutral, textured rug that will be at home in most any design aesthetic.

Next we focus on adding some pattern, interest & function with a patio umbrella.  There are so many different options to choose from. From ruffles to fringe, to stripes, or even just a solid splash of color.  We love the way this ruffle adds a little softness & pop of color without becoming overly bright!

Bringing in pillows helps tie the design together.  These can be placed throughout for added comfort & interest –  on the dining chairs or lounge seating area.

Another great addition to any patio space: garden stools or poufs! They not only look great but are so functional. These modern traditional stools add sculptural beauty, while the jute pouf is a great spot for lounging little ones or sunbathing pets!

Setting your table with textures and layers takes the outdoor entertaining to the next level! We love how these fringed placemats, the melamine dish set & the wrapped glassware adds some whimsy & fun!

Bring some greenery close to you with these beautiful planters that can stay outside all season long! End your day cozy by the fire, unwinding to your favorite tunes – utilizing these bluetooth speakers cleverly disguised as rocks!

Cheers to warmth & time spent outdoors!
